Organic membranes are made of high molecular materials, such as cellulose acetate, aromatic polyamide, polypropylene, polyethersulfone, polyfluoropolymers, etc. Organic membrane elements are made of organic polymer materials. From the perspective of membrane element configurations, the most widely used ones are mainly the spiral wound type, tubular type, and cylindrical type, etc. From the perspective of filtration levels, the main ones currently involved are: microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis.

The multi-functional organic membrane experimental equipment mainly consists of a feed pump, a security filter, a booster pump, a membrane module, a heat exchanger, a circulating tank, etc. Among them, the feed pump mainly provides the original liquid for the system and the power for the front end of the security filter. The security filter mainly intercepts particulate impurities entering the raw liquid of the membrane system to prevent clogging and damage to the membrane elements. The booster pump is mainly used to provide high pressure for the system to achieve the purpose of cross-flow filtration. The tubular heat exchanger is designed to reduce the irreversible damage to the membrane elements caused by temperature rise during system operation. The circulating tank is mainly used for storing raw liquid in the circulating system and for CIP online cleaning.
